The 2023 Cricket World Cup, held in India, left unforgettable impressions on the fans and became a colorful event in world sport. Even though the World Cup is over, there is still a lot of cricket ahead, and together with pin up bet, you can continue to wager on your favorite sport at a reliable bookmaker with good odds.

Historic World Cup

The tournament, which started on 5 October and concluded on 19 November 2023, brought together the world’s best teams at ten different stadiums in ten cities across the country. The final, which took place on 19 November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, brought a clash between strong contenders India and Australia. The battle for the World Cup title proved thrilling, but in the end, Australia emerged victorious, beating India in an exciting six-wicket battle.

This final was historic as it was the first time Ahmedabad hosted the final of the Cricket World Cup. It was also the second clash between India and Australia in a World Cup final after 2003, when Australia also won.

The main favourite for the tournament was the Indian team. Fans were fearless in placing a bet on the hosts. Among other things, you could make your prediction at Pin-up Bet online. There are always good odds on various outcomes.

It seemed that nothing could stop them from winning the World Cup.

The Australian team that won the title set a record by becoming six-time World Champions. The tournament attracted more than 1 million spectators, the highest attendance at any cricket World Cup.

The group stage began with a thrilling match between 2019 World Cup finalists New Zealand and England. New Zealand won by nine wickets. However, England, defending the title, failed in the tournament. The team crashed out already in the group stage.

The Indian team performed excellently in the group stage, winning all 9 matches along with India, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand they qualified for the play-offs. The semi-final matches, which were played in Mumbai and Kolkata, were authentic thrillers. India defeated New Zealand by 70 runs, while Australia beat South Africa by 3 wickets.

Unforgettable finale

The final between India and Australia brought incredible emotions. Let’s have a review of the final game at the World Cup. India started strong in attack but lost several key players, leaving the score at 81/3. Virat Kohli and Kanannur Rahul formed an important partnership, adding 67 for the fourth wicket, but Kohli departed after scoring 54. Despite the effort, India ended their innings with a score of 203/6. The innings ended when Kuldeep Yadav was run out off the last ball of the 50th over of the match with the score on 240.

Australia also struggled at the start of their innings, losing three players for 47 in the first seven overs. However, Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne built an impressive partnership, adding 192 runs in 36 overs. By the time Head was bowled out by Mohammed Siraj for 137, Australia were just two runs away from victory. Glenn Maxwell, who entered next, struck two crucial blows off the next ball, ensuring Australia’s winning match by six wickets.

The final was a spectacle for more than 300 million television viewers, with a peak of 130 million views, making it the most-watched cricket match on television.

Individual performance

Virat Kohli was the best player in the tournament, adjudged the best player, and scored the highest points. Mohammed Shami was the top scorer for wickets.

The tournament’s oldest player was Dutch cricketer Wesley Barresi, who was 39 years old, and the youngest was Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad, who was just 18 years old.

Thus, the 2023 Cricket World Cup was one of the most exciting cricket World Cups in history that managed to draw a huge audience.
